Morgan’s Story
*Morgan reached out to Thrive Clinic feeling overwhelmed and numb, struggling to process the reality of a recent positive pregnancy test. She had been experiencing a season that felt like hardship after hardship. The baby’s father was not supportive, and she was working toward securing a safer housing situation. Money was very tight, and the idea of having a child while facing these challenges seemed impossible to her. The thought of abortion seemed easier in some ways. But at the same time, Morgan shared she felt that having an abortion would go against her values. During her ultrasound, she was deeply moved. The baby had a heartbeat. Culture was telling her that it was just a little blob—but she could not shake the reality that it was a human. The crushing weight of the decision and the road ahead felt overwhelming.
As Morgan talked with the team at Thrive, she was connected to community resources. She began to feel less and less alone. She was able to process all of her pregnancy options in light of her life circumstances, without pressure or judgment. The team prayed with her, listened to her, and cared for her broken heart. Later on, after much thought and processing, Morgan bravely chose to parent her child. The team provided her with maternity clothes, pointed her to helpful community resources, and offered mentorship. It was evident that hope was beginning to grow in Morgan's heart, and she was beginning to dream of all the ways this new child could be a blessing.
Will you join us in praying for Morgan, and thanking God for this precious mother and sweet baby? Pray that God would provide for her every need during and after her pregnancy, and that she would know how deeply loved and valuable she is.
