Welcome to Safe Place Week!
Advocating for the sanctity of life isn’t only about what we believe — it’s about how we love. One of the most powerful ways we protect life is by becoming a safe place for someone walking through an unplanned pregnancy. When people feel safe to confide in a friend, receive godly encouragement, and experience sacrificial support, they are empowered to choose life — and families are strengthened.
Thrive Medical Clinic has developed several tools to equip our local faith community to support people before, during, and after an unplanned pregnancy. Throughout Safe Place Week, from Sanctity of Life Sunday (Jan 18) through Friday (Jan 23), these resources are organized in a clear, day-by-day path for individuals and churches.
We encourage you to begin by reading the Safe Place booklet.

let’s dive in!
SUNDAY
Kick Off Safe Place Week on Sanctity of Life Sunday
Individuals: Start by watching the Impact Video below and reading the Safe Place booklet. These resources will guide your heart and mindset as you walk through the rest of the week.
Church Coordinators: We encourage you to show the Impact Video during the service as a way to introduce Safe Place Week to your church body. Print copies of the Safe Place Week One-Pager for people to take home. Use the slide in your announcements loop or other communications.
MONDAY
Guided prayer for people in unplanned pregnancies
Individuals: Use the Prayer Guide to pray for people in unplanned pregnancies. Follow the prompts or adapt them in your own words.
Church Coordinators: Share the Prayer Guide with your members (email, app, or handouts) and invite teams or groups to pray through it together today. Even a few minutes of unified prayer can have a profound impact!
TUESDAY
Engage with the Church Leader Guide
Church Leaders: Today we invite church leaders—pastors, elders, ministry directors, youth leaders, small-group leaders, and anyone entrusted with spiritual care—to spend time in our Church Leader Guide. This resource builds on the Safe Place booklet and provides a deeper, Gospel-centered framework for walking alongside those who have chosen abortion in the past or may consider it in the future.
We encourage church teams to read the guide and use the discussion questions together, allowing space for reflection, prayer, and intentional planning as you seek to make your church a safe and supportive place for people in unplanned pregnancies.
Parents and individual participants: If you’re ready for a deeper dive beyond the Safe Place booklet, this guide is a meaningful next step.
Wednesday
Youth Group/Young Adult Lesson Guide
Parents: You’re invited to preview the Lesson Guide and use the reflection questions at the end to spark meaningful conversation with your child after youth group.
Note: This lesson includes non-graphic references to abortion. It does not aim to spark debate or controversy; rather, it offers a compassionate, biblically-grounded framework for how students can be a safe place for friends facing unplanned pregnancies. It is written for high schoolers and young adults.
Youth/Young Adult Pastors: Copy the Lesson Guide and adapt it for your specific group. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to read the Safe Place Booklet, and The Church Leader’s Guide to Shepherding the Abortion-Vulnerable ahead of time. See Lesson Guide for more instructions.
Thursday
A Safe Place for Grace & Healing
Individuals: Today’s focus is on God’s heart for those who carry the pain of a past abortion. Read through the devotional and reflection prompts, and spend time praying for the women and men in our churches and communities who need support, grace, and a safe place to heal. If this is part of your own story, we pray these resources gently point you toward hope, forgiveness, and the healing love of Christ. His grace and love are deeper than your wounds, and you hold great worth to God regardless of your past decisions.
Church Coordinators: Encourage staff and pastoral teams to reflect on how your church can communicate the gospel of grace clearly to those carrying this invisible burden. With grace and sensitivity, highlight trusted healing ministries as next steps for anyone seeking support.
FRIDAY
Putting love into action
As Safe Place Week comes to a close, today’s focus is on taking simple, meaningful next steps. Being a safe place isn’t about doing everything or having all the answers — it’s about choosing one way to live out compassion and support in real life. This one-page guide offers a short list of practical ways you can continue fostering a Safe Place culture in your family, church, and community. Choose one place to start, and trust that God uses small, faithful steps to make a lasting impact.
Thank You!
Thank you for walking through Safe Place Week with us! Jesus meets people in their most vulnerable moments with both compassionate truth and tenderness. As His hands and feet, we are called to do the same — to reflect His heart toward those walking through unplanned pregnancies with love, grace, and tangible help that leads to abundant life. We hope this week empowered you to do just that!
Thank you for helping make our community a place where grace replaces shame, and where every life is welcomed and supported.
