They felt pressure to abort.
Anna* and Dylan* knew they couldn’t go through with an abortion, but people close to them were adamant that they shouldn’t have this baby. They were not going to let Anna and Dylan “ruin their lives.”
During their appointment, the couple saw their baby on the ultrasound and learned about adoption and parenting resources. Our team was also a source of encouragement for them as they navigated the pressure from loved ones.
The support they received helped strengthen their resolve. When we saw them recently, Anna, Dylan, and their baby were doing well!
They considered abortion.
For Lizzy* and Kyle*, the option of abortion was on the table. The fear of judgment towards their pregnancy and the lack of support felt overwhelming.
But seeing their baby on the ultrasound made all the difference; they were “all in” with parenting. We offered them a dresser full of baby items, as well as additional support, and helped them navigate the road ahead.
When they picked up the dresser, Lizzy was glowing and kept saying how excited she was for her baby’s arrival.
She felt like there was no other option.
Kelly* was set on having an abortion. No other choice felt possible to her. She came to Thrive to ask questions and learn about abortion. As our staff compassionately cared for her, listened to her fears, and answered her questions, her heart began to question if she could go through with it.
She came back multiple times to process with staff and learn more about life-affirming resources. She eventually chose to parent!
Kelly and her unborn baby were covered in prayer from the very first appointment.
